Endowed Chair in Cotton Engineering, Ginning, and Mechanization

Cotton is Texas’ largest agricultural export, contributing $2.4 billion to the state’s gross domestic product. On average, Texas produces 6.2 million bales per year, leading the nation in cotton production and supporting more than 40,000 jobs. With its status as a land-grant institution, Texas A&M University is instrumental in serving the state’s cotton industry, and the Endowed Chair in Cotton Engineering, Ginning and Mechanization contributes to this role. By supporting outstanding faculty with expert industry experience, the chair helps to boost the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the industry across the state.

Jimmy Roppolo '69 Endowed Scholarship

United Agricultural Co‑op, Inc. in El Campo has established a scholarship in honor of Jimmy Roppolo, recognizing his remarkable 40 years of dedicated service to the cooperative and the agricultural community. This scholarship highlights Jimmy’s lifelong commitment to advancing farming practices and supporting fellow growers across the region. His decades of leadership and passion for agriculture have made an enduring impact on both the co‑op and the broader cooperative movement.
